3 Late Summer Styling Tips to Make the Most Out of Your Wardrobe, Now.

Written by Lauren “Elle” Mercado

I have some good news: While fall is approaching, it's still (scorching) summer, so you have opportunities to wear this season's essential trends. Late summer brings constant 100-degree days, and by this time the initial excitement for our summer wardrobe falls victim to, "It's just so hot, I have no clue what to wear."

In the final days of summer, I challenge you to tap back into the excitement you had in May and end this season with a bang! Experiment with your style and have fun working in some fall fashion too, to get the most out of the last days of the season.

Here are my three top tips for late summer styling:

Wear White and Other Summer Trends Now!

No regrets. It will be months before you can wear that white dress, so wear it now. Have a few summer looks you've pinned on Pinterest, but didn’t wear? Try those trends out now. Inside this month's fashion shoot, we've featured a couple of white dresses, like this one from Violet Closet.

Neutrals. Wear Them Now and Later.

Really you can't go wrong with muted tones. They work in any season. In the summer, try mixing neutrals with a pop of color. This look by Aspen Boutique works perfectly for an end-of-summer look, because each piece can be worn separately and can be taken into fall.

Creative Layering

Layering in the summer is a thing — and not to mention a great way to shield yourself from the chilly AC. The tip here is to ensure your layered fabrics are loose and lightweight. Try wearing an oversized buttonup, cropped cardigan or jacket, draped off the shoulder. Styling your outerwear off your shoulder not only keeps your shoulders warm, but it's also a way to elevate your look. This look from The LBD is a great example of how you can pair an off-the-shoulder jacket with a flowy summer dress.
